Good Morning All


I woke up shivering this morning. I don't know what the temperature is outside, but inside it is a crisp 61. I am going to try to hold off turning on the heat for a few days anyway. I am not looking forward to the cold temperatures that are headed my way.

I must remember though:

back to work tomorrow, my vacation is over. Nice thing is when I get paid for next week it will be a nice check, with 2 days with time and a half, as well as 7 hours or so of holiday pay, just with the next 2 days I will working 14 hours and getting paid for 28 by the time you figure holiday pay and the time and a half together...for the week I will have the equivalent of 48 hours...still not much considering how little I make, but like that extra dollar I got at the stop light downtown, every little bit helps.

I am so sick and tired of hearing people like Al Sharpten make the word "refugee" into a racial issue! It is not racial, despite what what Al and others say, it does not give the connotation of someone seeking a handout. It simply means someone displaced, by no fault of their own, from their home or hometown.

I got a little bit of a surprise this morning (just after 8 am). As I made my way through downtown, to get to North Topeka, I was stopped by a stop light. A sheriff's deputy came to driver side window (as well as other vehicles who were waiting for the light) and handed me $1 along with a flyer as a thank you for wearing my seat belt. The program apparently is a service of Safe Kids and State Farm Insurance.

I have made a decision that I am going to give up trying to start my hauling business!
why?
1) Gas prices
2) To expensive to operate a truck
3) Not enough business

I will sell my truck and buy a smaller more fuel efficient car. Of course I can't afford a car until I pay of the at the very least the largest mortgage (month to month that is not total pay off) which is actually another $2,800 which according to my latest figures will take another 6 months. I am not sure if I can actually afford to continue that long, but I will trust God and trust him to get me through.

In addition I have a number of pens (from the attempted business venture) and pencils that I would sell 15/$1 plus any shipping or the whole box of 75-86 pens and 31 pencils for $5 plus $shipping. If anyone is interested in buying the box full, you can use the paypal link in my user info.

Not sure what else I can do, but I will find other things to sell.
